Agent Profile
After getting her BA from Colby College and her Masters from SUNY New Paltz, Katharine Dunlop worked from 1956 to 1990 as a teacher in the Webutuck and Millbrook School Districts.

In 1956 she got her real estate license with her mother, Elizabeth Putnam Conklin, who was a major broker in Northern Dutchess County from 1931 to 1963. From 1963 to 1980 Katharine worked with attorney James D. Benson as a real estate salesman. She sold more and more properties, so when Mr. Benson became a judge in 1980, Katharine took the broker course and formed her own Real Estate Brokerage: Katharine C. Dunlop, Licensed Real Estate Broker. She is also licensed to sell and list property in Connecticut.

Katharine knows this market inside and out. She knows its history and how it has evolved. She specialized for many years in prime properties in Millbrook and northeastern Dutchess County, selling major pieces of land as well as major estates, horse farms and country homes. In 1984 she sold the 950-acre Culver Farm in Shekomeko Valley, which was subsequently subdivided and became several multi-million dollar estate properties. In the 1990s she sold the Dutchfield Farm, Jobe Farm and Barlow Farm in South Amenia, and McNab-Smith land and Kravis land in Shekomeko and Smithfield. Since 2000 she has successfully marketed the 810-acre Green Hill Farm and 400 Acre Pond Lily Farms, located in Columbia County. She also continues to hold a strong position in residential sales. Since the 1980s Katharine has sold more than 65 properties in the much sought after Smithfield and Shekomeko area.
