Mia Burmeister, the only Certified International Property Specialist in the southern area of Alabama, Certified by the National Association of Realtors through confirmed international training, foreign business transactions and other associated skills and global community outreach such as international organization membership and involvement. In her native Mobile after 16 years in Charleston, SC, where she is also
currently licensed, a Realtor previously in Palm Beach, FL and Spanish Cay, Bahamas, Mia is uniquely qualified to assist foreign nationals in their move to or from the United States and makes that her focus. She is assisted, when necessary, by other international experts in real estate and associated fields.

Training for her for international certification included, among many others, CIPS Americas, Europe, Asia Pacific, RISK Reduction International I & II, CIPS Transaction Tools, Local Markets, Real Estate Contracts (US & Foreign), and, of course, Ethics. As a CIPS, we work with foreign Realtors to further bilateral contracts between countries and an understanding of knowledge of local customs. She is also Transnational Referral Certified, allowing for a broader global real estate audience for her own clients, and is Certified by the U.S. Dept. of Commerce in International Trade Leadership. Burmeister is a Partner for Growth Member of Economic Development, Mobile Area Chamber of Commerce and a Member of Realtor Association Boards in Alabama, Florida and South Carolina. She is also a Global Council member of the SC CIPS Global Alliance NAR Presidents Liaison Ambassadors to South Africa.
Mia is Trained in Historic Real Estate by the National Trust for Historic Preservation and has worked with State, Local and National officials for preservation. Trained in Preservation Easements and Tax Incentives for Residential and Commercial Property with Mayors, City Planners, and Attorneys, working with City officials and State Preservationists, She created an educational seminar on the myths of preservation and opportunities available to homeowners of historic properties. Three local Charleston, SC papers published her column on historic districts and homes. Growing up in Mobile as the daughter of a local Architect, Carl Freeman Burmeister, Jr., Mia is aware that our Architecture is significant to our history, old and new.

Ms. Burmeister’s former employment includes U.S. Army Corps of Engineers – Graphic Designer and later as a Civil Engineering Technician; 17 years in the Wireless and Data Industry. Born and raised on the Gulf Coast, Mia is more than capable to assist in relocation and understands the many facets and involved.
